Performance
Pilots are powered by a muscular V6 engine. Output is 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Honda helps you keep fuel costs down by providing variable cylinder management for driving at highway cruising speeds. It also includes idle-stop which keeps the SUV from wasting fuel during long idles such as redlights, drive-throughs, the school carpool line, and more. The Sport, EX-L, SE and Touring trim levels come with two-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. Like the Elite and Black Edition, the TrailSport has all-wheel drive as standard. This trim level has a suspension lift to allow for more ground clearance if it goes off road.
Utility and Capability
Intelligent traction management is standard across the board. This means the front-wheel Pilot has the ability to deal with snow better than many rivals. Then the all-wheel drive system adds sand and mud settings to help cope with off-road surfaces. Ground clearance is 7.3 inches with front-wheel drive and 7.9 inches with all-wheel drive. Towing capacity is 3,500 pounds (FWD) and 5,000 pounds (AWD). Depending on the drivetrain, the cargo hold offers either 16.5 or 18.5 cubic feet. With the third row folded, there’s 46.8 cubic feet, which grows to 83.9 cubic feet if the second row is also folded. Interior Trim Levels
Large and spacious, the Pilot passenger volume is 15.29 cu.ft. (Sport) or 151.7 (Other Trims). The Sport, EX-L, Special Edition, TrailSport and Touring models seat 8. The 7-seat layout is a Touring option, an Elite standard, and a Black Edition standard. With these trim options, shoppers have excellent access points to get the Pilot amenities they want. In fact, the Sport trim is especially well equipped. The standard tech package covers all of the integration features and interactive features one needs. This includes a tri-zone automatic climate system. On the EX-L trim, drivers enjoy the benefits of leather upholstery, a power liftgate, and a power moonroof. The TrailSport trim level is all about off-roading. The cabin’s sporty style includes leather upholstery with orange logos and orange stitching. Touring trims upgrade the upholstery to perforated upholstery. They have acoustic windshield and front doors as well as additional dash tech and a wireless charger. Elite models have every possible feature, including a panoramic moonroof and ventilated front seats.
Technology
The new standard 8-inch touch screen has what any driver could need to connect with necessary information and exciting entertainment choices. Apple CarPlay lets iPhone users download their apps. Android Auto integration does the same for Google Android phone users. With map apps downloaded to the screen, the user has navigational aids that work similarly to the built-in navigation system. If you upgrade to the navigational system, you gain Honda travel and traffic functions as well as advanced capabilities for maps and turn-by-turn directions. The Touring and Elite models have a standard rear entertainment system with a 10.2 inch screen. These Honda SUV trims also have a 590-watt audio system with multi-zone audio. Safety

The Pilot has earned good ratings from federal crash testers, and, even better, Honda Sensing is standard, ready to help drivers stay out of bad situations. While these systems cannot take the place of the driver, these aids can warn the Honda SUV driver about stopping traffic ahead, notify the driver about cars pulling up alongside, and signal the driver if the SUV is leaving its lane. The systems include a lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, a forward collision warning, and collision mitigation braking. Adaptive Cruise Control, another standard, assists the driver even in busy traffic. Automatic high beams know when to increase or decrease the light. A blind spot monitor warns the driver when cars are too close alongside, and the cross traffic monitor watches for dangers during reverse meanuevers.
