When it comes to Honda American-made vehicles, no brand delivers quite like Honda. For the latest edition of Cars.com's American-Made Index, Honda has more vehicles in the top 20 than other foreign brands such as Toyota and American brands such as Ford. That’s a testament to the automaker's deep and lasting commitment to building vehicles right here in the United States.
So what exactly is the Cars.com American-Made Index? Published annually, the AMI ranks vehicles based on five key criteria: final assembly location, percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts content, country of origin for available engines, country of origin for available transmissions, and U.S. manufacturing workforce size relative to the automaker's overall footprint. This year marks the index's 20th anniversary, and Honda's strong showing proves the brand remains an American manufacturing powerhouse.
In fact, three Honda models earned coveted spots in the top 10, and Honda's presence on the list goes well beyond that.
