Honda Side by Side Models: 2024 SUV Lineup

Let’s take a look at the 2024 Honda SUV model lineup.

The Honda subcompact SUV, known as the Honda HR V, leads the way with style and technology. This is a five-seat crossover that is both affordable and well-equipped. It’s a good commuter, a trusted cross-country companion, and a sporty ride.

Next up is the Honda CR-V which includes the Honda CR-V Hybrid models. This Honda wagon repeatedly wins kudos from journalists and families as an outstanding two-row choice. Labeled a compact SUV, this ride is extremely spacious in every respect. It’s a hardy vehicle having been tried out in Honda testing facilities in the Mojave desert.  Kelley Blue Book praises the models for agile handling, hushed cabins, gentle rides, and excellent interiors. Plus the 2024 Honda CR-V has added the Sport L trim to the lineup. It comes with goodies like leather seats, a power liftgate, and a wireless charger.

The Honda Passport SUV is meant for fun on the run whether it’s a cross-country trip or a visit to a nearby trail. The Pilot is the well-known three-row Honda SUV that handles big families and carpools. These two SUVs have Trailsport editions that can be more adventurous off the road.

Honda is focused on giving people the amenities they have been asking for. This includes important exterior design details such as LED headlights and a power liftgate. The interior essentials include automatic climate controls, a premium audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a navigation system.

Driver Assistance and Today’s Best Technologies

The brand-exclusive rearview camera has three standard views instead of just one. Plus roadside departure mitigation, available for years on Honda SUVs, is still not available on most competitors.

Honda Sensing includes additional standard features. Collision mitigation braking assists with forward collision dangers and pedestrian detection. Driver assistance includes lane keeping, traffic jam assistance, and automatic high beams. Low speed follow makes adaptive cruise control more pleasurable for the driver.

In many cases, Honda SUVs have more standard driver assistance than rival car manufacturers. We invite you to compare when trying to decide which brand of SUV model to test drive. We think you’ll find that Honda Sensing is one of the most complete and affordable standard packages in the marketplace.

Honda SUV Questions and Answers

Why Doesn't Honda Make A Full-Size SUV?

Actually Honda does make a full size SUV. It's the Honda Pilot with lots of room for everyone on three rows. It can seat 8 people. Like many 3 row rides, it is classified as a midsize SUV and is seriously spacious inside.

With more than 150 cubic feet of passenger volume, the Honda Pilot is big enough to handle large families as they venture forth to school, activities, or vacations. This three-row ride can claim 38 inches of second-row legroom. The Honda Pilot Elite is a luxury-level model with a panoramic roof.

Perhaps the only vehicle to challenge the Pilot is the Odyssey, although it isn’t technically one of the Honda SUV models. This minivan is extremely spacious and packed with amenities that families need. It can stand up to a full-size 3 row SUV any time.

The Passport is about as big as the Pilot, but it seats five. This midsize SUV can provide over 40 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up. The popular CR-V has a very roomy front seats, rear seat, and cargo area. How big of an SUV do you need? Check out your choices in our inventory.

Why is the Honda CR-V so popular in the United States?

Automotive journalists at every major outlet like the Honda CRV. This includes Edmunds, Car and Driver, Kelley Blue Book, U.S. News and World Report, and more. It is recognized as the total package, giving people more of what they want at a good price. This is how it has stayed ahead of its big pack of competitors, including the Toyota RAV4.

It also helps to have a good safety record and a big suite of Honda Sensing technologies. Lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, automatic braking, and other active safety functions help the driver avoid accident situations.

CR V features include the dash tech that you need to stay connected. In addition to the big stuff like your touch screen, there are other important items like USB ports, a wireless charger, a satellite radio connection, and adaptive cruise control with helpful buttons on the steering wheel.

The CR V Hybrid combines two electric motors with its gas engine. This allows it to crank out 212 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is a money-saving 40 mpg in the city. The available all-wheel drive doesn’t change the hybrid’s fuel economy.

Offered with the regular or hybrid engine, the Touring trim is everything you could want in an SUV at this price point. Standards include leather upholstery with heated front power-adjustable chairs.
